The village of Penestanan is surrounded by beautiful rice terraces and is known as the centre of the Young Artist Painter movement. Santra Putra was established in 1989 to provide a small art studio in the middle of the rice fields, away from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. The gallery is a place for people to share their ideas about art, culture, and philosophy. studio & gallerySantra Putra is well known amongst the Ubud art community, not only Wayan Karja but many other painters display their work at the gallery. Exhibitions by international and Balinese artists are held several times every year. The studio at Santra Putra is where the creative energy of I Wayan Karja flows strongest. Upon entering you can immediately sense the quiet energy of Karja's work. There is always a collection of paintings by I Wayan Karja available for viewing or purchase at Santra Putra Gallery. The studio is also equipped with printmaking facilities which are available to local and international artists if required. workshops & teaching facilitiesSantra Putra is a popular training facility for teachers of art, meditation, Yoga and massage. Centrally located in Penestanan Kaja the training facilities are available to teachers with classes of up to 25 students. The Santra Putra training facilities are available for periods ranging from weekend workshops to monthly bookings. Painting workshops are held here by Wayan Karja. the guest houseSantra Putra also has rooms available for those wishing to stay in the heart of traditional Bali. Just relax in the rice fields and let the ducks entertain you. Have a cup of tea, watch the changing light in the clouds.
